BEST -
cleaners/activators/primers
To achieve or optimize adequate bonding quality of adhesive
products on bonding surfaces these areas need to be cleaned
of oil, grease and other contaminants with BEST-Clean 2000.
For pretreatment of bonding surfaces before subsequent
bonding with anaerobic adhesivers (BEST-MK types) we
recommend cleaning with BEST-Aktiv A.
In applications with larger gaps, open applications, porous
surfaces, materials with acid surfaces (pH-value 1 – 5) and
before bonding with cyanoacrylate adhesives (BEST-CA
types)we recommend BEST-AKtiv C . |

BEST-Aktiv A
is a solvent containing activating agent
for the pre-treatment of bonding surfaces. It
accelerates curing of BEST-MK products and allows
full cure of adhesives on passive surfaces. Aktiv A
consists of 99% CFC/FC free carrier agent and the
actual activating agent.
APPLICATION
BEST-Aktiv A is an activator for the use in
combination with all BEST-MK metal adhesives. It is
used for pre-treatment of highly passive metal
surfaces and on non-metallic materials. Highly
passive surfaces are e. g. galvanically treated
components (chrome-plated, nickel-plated,
galvanized) and alloyed steel with the following
alloying components: Cr, Ni, Wo, Mo.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:
Apply or spray on surface to be treated. Allow
product to dry off completely (5 – 10 minutes)
before applying bonding agent or assembling. Bonding
process must be initiated within 24 hours after
application of the activator.
After application of
BEST-Aktiv A fixture time for all
BEST-MK metal adhesives is reached
within 1 – 10 minutes.
Available in units
of 200 ml (aerosol) or 1000 ml / 5000 ml.
STORAGE
Store in a cool, well ventilated place. Keep
container tightly closed. Shelf life in unopened
original container: 12 months

BEST-Aktiv
C
is a
solvent
containing
activating
agent
for
the
pre-treatment
of
bonding
surfaces.
It

APPLICATION:
BEST-Aktiv

cure
of
BEST-CA
adhesives
is
delayed
or
compromised,
e.g.
in
applications
with
large
bonding
gaps,

and
hard-to-bond
surfaces,
in
open
applications,
on
inactive
surfaces,
etc.
INSTRUCTIONS
FOR
USE:
Apply
or
spray
on
one
of
the
surfaces
to
be
bonded,
preferably
on
the
surface
difficult-to-bond.
Allow
product
to
dry
off
completely
(2
minutes)
before
applying
bonding
agent
on
the
other
surface
and
assembling.
In
some
exceptional
cases
pretreatment
of
both
bonding
surfaces
is
possible.
For
open
applications
or
to
cure
excess
adhesive
around
the
edges
a
subsequent
application
of
BEST-Aktiv
C on
the
bonding
agent
is
possible.
Dispense
product
sparingly
because
otherwise
overreaction
(foaming)
of
the
activator
might
be
initiated.
High
viscous
product
types,
e.
g.
BEST-CA
233
and
BEST-CA
244
are
more
suitable
for
subsequent
application
on
bonding
films.
We
recommend
application
tests
on
lacquered
surfaces
and
thermoplastic
synthetics
prior
to
use.

is a cleaning agent
based on solvents and free
of CFC/FC-components. It
dries off without any
residue and features a
strong and fast cleaning
effect.
BEST-Clean 1000
is the ideal cleaning agent
in the fields of industry,
crafts, repair and
maintenance.
APPLICATION
BEST-Clean 1000 cleans
metals, glass, ceramics,
rubber, synthetic materials,
etc. We recommend
performance tests on
thermoplastic materials,
e.g. PVC, PS, PC or PMMA
prior to use. BEST-Clean
1000 is also recommend for
pretreatment and degreasing
of bonding surfaces, removal
of oil, grease, resin,
adhesive residue, clutch and
brake abrasions, for the
cleaning of engine parts,
springs, electrical
installations, starters,
bearings and guiding devices
and for the removal of
difficult-to-treat stains on
upholstery and textiles.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:
Shake well before use. Spray
on surface to be treated
from a distance of 20 – 30
cm. In case of strong
contamination repeat
procedure. Wipe off excess
solvent with a clean,
absorbent and lint-free
cloth to intensify the
cleaning effect. Allow
product to dry off before
continuing or applying
bonding agent.

2000
is
a virtually
odourless
cleaning
agent based
on solvents
and free of
CFC/FC-components,
ketones and
aromates. It
dries off
without any
residue.
Contrary to
cleaning
agents
containing
CFC/FC
components
it does not
influence or
compromise
the strength
of bonding
agents used
in the
subsequent
application.
BEST-Clean
2000 is an
adequate
alternative
to
fluorinated
or
chlorinated
hydrocarbons.

pretreatment
agent.
BEST-Primer C
is a primer to
be used in
combination with
all BEST-CA
adhesives. It is
suitable for the
pretreatment of
bonding surfaces
made of
non-polar
synthetetic
materials which
are difficult to
bond, e. g.
polyethylene,
polypropylene,
polyoximethylene,
silikones,
polyamide > 6.6,
PTFE. Subsequent
bonding with
BEST-CA 212
delivers best
results.

glass and ceramics before bonding with a
BEST-PL adhesive (light curing adhesive
based on acrylate). BEST-Primer P
consists of 99% CFC/FC freed carrier
agent and the actual pretreatment
agent..
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
BEST-Primer P is an adhesion primer to
be used in combination with all BEST-PL
adhesives. It is suitable for the
pretreatment of bonding surfaces made of
glass or ceramic. Pretreatment with
BEST-Primer P enhances strength and
temperature and chemical resistance of
the bonding. Values may vary and depend
on the material to be bonded, the
bonding gap and other conditions of the
application. We recommend performance
tests prior to use.
Apply
BEST-Primer P on the bonding surface
(brush, spray or dip). Allow product to
dry off completely (5 – 10 minutes)
before application of adhesive and
assembly. Bonding process has to be
completed within 24 hours after
